The Tax & Trade Practices Division of the ABC Board audits the records of beer, liquor, and table wine wholesalers, as well as importers, brewpubs, manufacturers, wine festivals, direct wine shippers, educational tourism distilleries, and consumable hemp product licensees. The Division receives monthly or quarterly reports from all the above licensees. Detailed on-site audits of in-state licensee financial records and business operations are conducted by staff to ensure appropriate taxes are paid and the operations of the licensee are conducted in accordance with Title 28, Code of Alabama (1975) and the Alabama ABC Board Rules and Regulations. The Tax & Trade Practices Division audits the inventory controls and cash accounting procedures of the central ABC warehouse, central ABC offices, and all retail ABC store locations across Alabama.
