The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s 2024 Limited Release Sweepstakes held Dec. 14 set yet another financial record in its short six-year history with sales of $2,343,725 and topped sales from 2023 by $448,340.
Eight ABC stores around the state hosted eager shoppers looking for exclusive, hard to find whiskey priced from under $30 to more than $7,000 per bottle. In waves of 30, shoppers were allowed to purchase products from four tables—one bottle from Table 1 (most highly-allocated products), two bottles from Table 2, one bottle of each brand on Table 3, and two bottles of each brand on Table 4.
Afterwards, customers who were not randomly selected by computer, registered onsite for an opportunity to shop the remaining allocations. More than 30,000 people registered for a chance to win a spot in line.
