Eligibility to Participate

In order to be eligible to participate in any Sweepstakes, individuals must be of legal drinking age. Only current Alabama residents who are at least 21 years of age and have a valid Alabama State issued ID or Alabama driver's license or are active-duty military stationed in Alabama and can provide a military photo ID and proof of residency, are eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes.

The AABCB reserves the right to disqualify all entries from anyone suspected of engaging in these prohibited activities, or any other prohibited activities set forth herein, from participation in current or future Sweepstakes. Persons under the age of 21 are strictly prohibited from participating in any Sweepstakes.

All AABCB employees are ineligible and shall NOT participate in the Sweepstakes.

Our Annual Whiskey Release has been very successful, and our customers have let us know how much they appreciate the efforts put forth to make that event a well organized and fair system to offer access to the these much sought-after products. We appreciate the feedback and are excited to announce that we plan to incorporate this methodology into our full year distribution plan.

To celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month, the Alabama ABC has modified the regular September quarterly release.  Each weekend will spotlight one of four pioneers that helped shape bourbon history.

  • Heaven Hill - September 6th
  • Brown Forman – September 13th
  • Jim Beam – September 20th
  • Sazerac – September 27th

 

Sweepstakes Entry

  • Registration Period:  Opens Monday, August 4, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. and closes Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
  • How to Enter:  Visit the ABC Board website to select up to four stores and up to four events for which you would like to be considered.  This provides up to 16 opportunities to win (4 locations x 4 events)!
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be an Alabama resident age 21 or over.
    • Active-duty military stationed in Alabama with proof of residency are eligible.
  • Important:  Your name and address must exactly match your Alabama-issued ID or driver’s license.  Mismatches will result in forfeiture of your place in line.
  • Notification:  All entrants will be informed of their status via email and text within 48 hours of the close of registration.  Make sure your contact information is correct.

 

Sweepstakes Details

  • Winners are randomly selected for each event.
  • If you are selected for any event you are ineligible for selection in the remaining events.
  • Being selected secures a numbered position in line at the chosen store and event.
  • Note:  Winning a place in line does not guarantee access to specific products as products are in limited quantities.
  • A total of 1,600 places in line will be awarded over the course of the September Bourbon Heritage Month Sweepstakes.

Event Day Instructions for Winners

  • Arrive at the store by 9:15 a.m.  Check-in begins promptly at 9:30 a.m.
  • Bring a valid Alabama-issued ID or military photo ID (With Proof of Residency).  Name must match entry exactly.
  • Late arrivals will be disqualified and removed from the line.

 

Walk-Up Participants - Didn’t win? You can still participate.

  • Walk-up line opens at 9:30 a.m. to individuals age 21 or over with a valid ID.
  • Positions in the walk-up line are first come, first served.
  • Military personnel with proof of residency can join the walk-up line.

 

Bottle Purchase Limits

  • Product selection and purchase limits will vary with each event.
  • We will begin sharing product information on August 4, 2025.
  • Updated information will be available in the product and pricing, here
  • Point to the bottle you wish to purchase;  staff will retrieve from reserves until inventory runs out.
  • Participants may not re-enter after their purchase.
