Thanks to principals and counselors from around the state, the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s anti-underage drinking program - Under Age, Under Arrest - enjoyed another record-setting year in 2023. We presented 157 programs at 130 school sites last year.
Reservations for the 2023-2024 school year are now open. If you would like to schedule a program, please click this link http://alabcboard.gov/underage-underarrest, click the “Request A Program” button and submit the electronic form. There is also an online calendar to help you choose the date most convenient for your school.
Remember, Under Age, Under Arrest is a free public education and awareness program focused on stopping underage drinking and other illegal drug use. Our program is a 55-minute presentation that highlights the dangers and the legal, social and physical consequences of underage drinking.
The program includes testimony from a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) volunteer and a law enforcement officer who explains the law and legal penalties pertaining to underage drinking and other drug use. Local officials, including the Superintendent, District Attorney, juvenile judge and local legislators may also attend.
Since our program began in 2013, more than 200,000 Alabama middle, junior and high school students have participated in Under Age, Under Arrest events. Even if we have spoken with your students in the past, we are always happy to present again.
